while keeping their beautiful furniture. they were not sure about the rug, but we were rather obsessed with the fabulousness of it and used it as inspiration for the redesign. first, we painted the room this toasty "whole wheat" by sherwin williams... then we got some happy pillows and things to cozy up the room and make it a place you would want to be... we added a couple of beautiful bowls that can certainly hold mashed potatoes and stuffing one day a year, but work quite well for lincoln logs and pretzels every other day. they would also be pretty full of...
pretty pillows tie everything together and instantly cozy up a room... who says you have to keep china in a china cabinet? by christina britt lewis photography by angela statzer sue greeno spent her life making the world a safer place. this is the lobby of her office at safe alliance, a place where hope and healing begin for people in crisis. her family chose to honor her memory by making this lobby as warm and happy and welcoming as sue was. we were honored to help. before... after... ...The lotus flower begins life in the mud at the bottom of a pond. It grows upward through the water’s waves and currents and blooms into a beautiful flower when it surfaces. We believe this process is symbolic of the inspirational journey our clients travel with Safe Alliance. People come to us in a crisis that many would define as the worst of their lives. Clients utilize the knowledge, resources and tools gained through their engagement with Safe Alliance to empower themselves and blossom like the lotus flower... angie moses, artist and beautiful person, painted the lotus flower on the lobby wall. her art celebrates the greatness of small things as does the safe alliance logo. perfect fit. the petals of the lotus flower are the national awareness colors for domestic violence (purple), sexual assault (teal), child abuse (blue) and mental health (green). stories about sue and the lotus flower were our inspiration for the redesign. the big reveal was one we will remember forever. sue's family and friends talked about what she would think, what she would say, how she would feel. they laughed remembering something funny and then they would get very quiet and we all remembered she was gone. but you could sense her presence in their hearts. you could hear her voice in their stories. you could feel her love in their love. it was a holy moment... our deep gratitude to all who made that moment possible... angela statzer angie moses jacqui wheeler lime energy charlotte white glove delivery haverty's furniture world market homegoods ikea peace,
christina and tim click here if you need hope and healing click here to see what happens when people give to help others love coming home by christina britt lewis and angela statzer super easy way to hide cords. you probably already have a basket you can use. whenever we redesign a kitchen we find a basket and turn it into a charging station for the kitchen counter. looks all neat and tidy. we got a couple of baskets at target for the screeny things in the play room we redesigned the other day... make a little opening at the bottom of the basket to feed the charger thingy through... a place for everything and everything in its place... ta da... this post brought to you by our brilliant project manager, angela statzer. her ideas are fresh and fun. when she says "blog that", i blog that. her photos are like christmas morning to me. i get psyched about what we do all over again when i see it all through her eyes. peace, christina by christina britt lewis photography by angela statzer redesign by christina, angela, and kelley lies this home was already beautiful. our client has fabulous taste and serious style. she even knows how to make a pillow look perfect. she just needs some help finishing things. "warming it up" she calls it. so that we do. here is the most beautiful before photo of the most beautiful play room i ever posted... we rearranged the furniture so that the big window with the beautiful view of trees and sky became a focal point. this really changes the way a room feels. it's so much more lovely to face nature than to face a closet door. we added more lighting too so that you don't need to turn on the overhead. a triangle of lamps makes a room cozy and comfortable and makes everybody look more beautiful. she really wanted to make this tv niche less boring and more fun. so we got a few fun things... framed a photo they already have and love... and made a fun gallery wall... before. beautiful. i totally know. but the slight off centeredness of the art was off putting... and after. all together now... ahhhhhh... electronic mayhem... made peaceful by a few baskets. we feed the chargers through the holes in the basket so just the charger part is showing inside the basket, give everything a place, and hide the whole mess of extra cord under the table. you could also hide the extra cord in the basket if this were on a kitchen counter. we do this all the time. looks better than charging stations and costs like $7 or whatever... before... after... kelly making fun happen... angela lighting up the darkness... this may be our new signature lamp. i am head over heels in love with it. thanks be to ikea. as always... when you don't have a fancy photography umbrella, a stool from the kitchen and a shower curtain for tomorrow's installation will do just fine... our clients sweet words... Love, love, love the room! You are amazing!! ...My two older sons favorite part of the room are the two white bean bags on the floor. They have already claimed which ones are who's.....even though they're both exactly the same ;) ...I'm so in love with your work! nothing makes us happier than when you love coming home. off to redesign a dining room this morning. it's the most wonderful time of the year for us. we can't wait to show you a project we just finished up for safe alliance too! xoxoxox... christina, angela, and kelly |
