xo... christina for all (BIG LOVE and GRATITUDE for the nester who inspires us with her taped feathers and general fabulousness) by christina britt lewis photography by angela statzer you know how lots of times the way you planned things all falls apart? we planned to hang these window treatments on rods that were already there. we didn't have our painters with us in austin and didn't want to leave big holes in the walls. but they were too short. so we shopped the house and found a bolt of fun trim in an armoire. a quick trip to the store for some fabric adhesive and a few minutes of ironing resulted in the prettiest panels we ever did see. happy accident. so much of what you see in our blog is the result of a happy accident. but you could totally do this on purpose... one | hang window treatments like they are ankle length jeans and your floor is your feet two | shop your house or yard sales or *shudder* a store for fun trim three | see if your mom has some of this fabric adhesive. mine always does. or they have it at michael's. four | pull the ironing board right up to your already hanging panels and iron the trim on the bottom five | offer up a prayer of gratitude for happy accidents because... sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together

by christina britt lewis | photography by angela statzer angela is a trip. she makes me laugh till my face hurts. you see her reflected in the faces of the people she photographs. we are laughing because she is laughing. you see her reflected in the things she photographs too. she finds the beauty, whimsy, and artsy in every room because she is beautiful, whimsical, and artful. it all just comes naturally to her AND she can assemble a light fixture from ikea... angela styles, shoots, edits, and uploads the photos of every redesign for us. seeing what we do through her eyes makes me proud of what we do in a way i never was before. she makes me sing that josh grobin song...you lift me UUUUP...she helps me let go of all of my notgoodenough and see the beauty. we all feel that way. notgoodenough. when you find somebody who makes you see beauty and feel good enough... keep them. nomatterwhat. sometimes she makes kelly and me stick our heads through a hula hoop too... lewis and cory, owners of virtuoso painting company, did more than make these walls kelly green. they saved the day for us on this redesign by hauling the heavy stuff and making us laugh more than usual while we tackled two rooms in one day. *phew* lindsay wanted a canopy in her room. we knew uncle bill would make sure it stayed in the ceiling because he's THE BEST OF THE BEST HANDYMAN in charlotte. he won Charlotte Magazine's BOB Award AGAIN, people! BIG LOVE to all of you who voted! come celebrate with us at The Fillmore Charlotte on may 31 at 7:00 so we can hug and kiss and thank YOU in real life! WOOHOO!! back to the canopy...
