by christina britt lewis photography by angela statzer they downsized big time when they moved from davidson to austin. we love that. but everything that felt so right in their old house felt wrong in their new house. they tried to make it work and figured they needed new things. we hear that a lot. first thing we tell people is... stop buying stuff because most of us already have everything we need to make our house our home jenna is super smart and incredibly creative. her big sisters have already left the nest and her mom and dad wanted to suprise her by turning the guest room into her bedroom and her bedroom into a workspace where she can study and create. they figured they would need to buy new things to make this happen. we begged to differ. below is the former guest room. to us, your home is a board and your things are puzzle pieces. we just try them in different places until they fit...
when we shopped the house we found...
and new clippy lights from ikea because a girl's gotta read... we found this chair under a moving blanket in the garage. and the gorgeous window treatments we found in an armoire were too short so we ironed on trim we found in an armoire too. ok... i must say... not all of us have such fabulousness hiding in an armoire, but most of us have more than we think we do. this bookshelf went to jenna's new work space... and her art... OH her art... i would buy that rooster... so much more coming soon.
