keeping up with the joneses and climbing ladders used to be our thing. until one day it dawned on us that the joneses were not actually happy. so we said goodbye to the joneses, climbed back down the ladder, and headed down south to begin again.
we sold our big house in new hampshire fourteen years ago. on purpose. so that we could afford to start over and do what we love for a living. a choice we never regret. now we live in a little house with a detached garage in north carolina. tim went back to school and we lived off our savings until it was gone. our boys, cole and camden, grew up on very little. we all learned to love things like...
camping in a borrowed tent under the stars
movie nights with popcorn from scratch and pillow forts in the family room
hiking the blue ridge mountains
kitchen table conversations with family and friends over spaghetti and cheap red wine
s'mores by the fire in our tiny little backyard
making a beautiful home using only what we already had...
we learned how to live well and spend less.
we discovered that you don't need much to make a beautiful life.
we know that peace is notsomuch the absence of struggle, but the presence of love.
tim became a therapist and i became a designer. we started separate businesses at first, but soon noticed that when people choose to live more beautifully in one way, it has a ripple effect. discovering that a beautiful life is a choice empowers people to redesign everything. so we founded the redesign company together in 2003. we redesign homes, relationships, and careers.
