by christina britt lewis. only. timothy dean lewis did not help with this one at all. because he does not give a hoot about carrera marble... angela came over to try to capture what makes our home peaceful in photographs today. which is a bit terrifying for me. i am scared that you will decide our home is not good enough and take my designer card away. i don't really have a designer card. the real designers probably do. now you know i'm not a real designer. i was a sociology major. see the thing is, when faced with the decision to spend a weekend on the vineyard or to buy some furniture for our empty bedroom, we are going to choose the vineyard every single time. we can't do both. and we are totally cool with that. we don't want more stuff. we used to have more stuff. more stuff is overrated. it's the people and the stories that make a house a home. what good is a sexy sofa if nobody wants to sit and listen to music and drink wine and talk with you on it? or do...you know...other things on it. whatever. so i will not apologize for our dated cabinets, furnitureless bedroom, or complete lack of carrera marble. because as i peek over angela's shoulder and see what she sees in her camera, unexpected tears fill my eyes. our home is filled with things that bring peace that passes understanding to my soul... art created by our artist friends music sung by our singer friends books written by our writer friends cards sent by our thoughtful friends keepsakes found by our traveling friends sea glass collected by our beachy friends photos taken by our photographer friends... please look past the lack of pinteresty perfection and sing along with the music, see the beauty, smell the warm banana chocolate chip muffins, hear the laughter, and sense the peace. my deep hope is that we inspire you to see beauty in what you already have, to stop the soul sucking comparing of what you have to what others have, to give you new ideas to make your house your home without spending any moolah, and to feel nothing but satisfaction, contentment, and peace every time you come home. this is one day of a 31 day series about living in a peaceful home. click here to read the rest of the series. peace be with you, tim christina cole camden george Comments are closed.
