by christina britt lewis photography by angela statzer sue greeno spent her life making the world a safer place. this is the lobby of her office at safe alliance, a place where hope and healing begin for people in crisis. her family chose to honor her memory by making this lobby as warm and happy and welcoming as sue was. we were honored to help. before... after... ...The lotus flower begins life in the mud at the bottom of a pond. It grows upward through the water’s waves and currents and blooms into a beautiful flower when it surfaces. We believe this process is symbolic of the inspirational journey our clients travel with Safe Alliance. People come to us in a crisis that many would define as the worst of their lives. Clients utilize the knowledge, resources and tools gained through their engagement with Safe Alliance to empower themselves and blossom like the lotus flower... angie moses, artist and beautiful person, painted the lotus flower on the lobby wall. her art celebrates the greatness of small things as does the safe alliance logo. perfect fit. the petals of the lotus flower are the national awareness colors for domestic violence (purple), sexual assault (teal), child abuse (blue) and mental health (green). stories about sue and the lotus flower were our inspiration for the redesign. the big reveal was one we will remember forever. sue's family and friends talked about what she would think, what she would say, how she would feel. they laughed remembering something funny and then they would get very quiet and we all remembered she was gone. but you could sense her presence in their hearts. you could hear her voice in their stories. you could feel her love in their love. it was a holy moment... our deep gratitude to all who made that moment possible... angela statzer angie moses jacqui wheeler lime energy charlotte white glove delivery haverty's furniture world market homegoods ikea peace,
