HELP!!! we have a 2-story family room and it's so loud and echo'y and bare and empty. the pottery barn designer told us we need a big pricey piece, but we would rather go away for spring break than buy a huge wall full of furniture. is there any other solution??? 2-story family room before... yes, dear ones. there are many other solutions. it does not have to be expensive to be beautiful. 2-story family room after... before... after... all things they already have and love, just redesigned... we pick adventure together over buying better stuff every time. we have black and white checkered linoleum floors in our bathrooms, you guys. we have lived in our home for 12 years and renovated nothing. nothing. and we don't care. 'cause we are spring breaking in the caribbean. again. AND we love coming home. linoleum and all. you can too. xo... christina for all by christina britt lewis we are completely obsessed with client happiness. so much so that we consider ourselves happiness makers and not interior designers. the truth is, you guys, you don't have to be super talented to make a pinterest perfect home. anybody can copy a catalog. but... to make a home that expresses who you are and what you love... to make a home that feels all YOU and not all the joneses... to make a home that makes you happy... to make a home that you LOVE takes some fearlessness. first you have to figure out what you love. this is why when kelly and i come for an initial consultation we never ask stuff like... what is your style? are you a fixer upper fan? do you follow any design blogs? blah, blah, blah... we ask you stuff like... if you were given a free trip to anywhere in the world, where would you go? when was a time in your life when you felt most alive? what are you doing when the whole world fades away and you lose track of time? if money didn't matter and you could do and be anything, what would you do and be? where is your favorite place in the whole wide world? then we sit back and listen to your stories. then we kick you out for a bit while we do our brainstorming and planning and designing. what you don't hear (or maybe you do :-) is us asking each other over and over... what will SHE love? or HE... or THEY... we believe in happiness for all people. and pets. pets too. and that is why you hear in our houzz reviews... how did they know??? they were only there for an hour, yet somehow they made my home feel all ME! we know because you tell us and we listen. we know because deep down in your soul... YOU know... everything you really need, you already have. before... after... before... after... before... after... before... after... before... after... dancers, real plants, and a toucan because SHE loves dancing, the rainforest, and costa rica. what do YOU love? before... after... before... after... before... after... said it before and will say it again because my mom said it changed her life... fear not the real plant. real plants are everything. they bring life to a room. they are good for your mind, body, and soul. think of them the way you think of fresh flowers. love them for as long as they last and do not grieve them when they go. they are a super affordable way to make your home beautiful. and eventually you will find ones that stick around for a whole long time. xo... christina for all before... after... you do not need all new everything to have a happy home. crisp, fresh, white walls update everything... art they already have and love, just redesigned... before... after... their cool stuff, just redesigned... cookies + cards in the family room = happy little people drinks in the family room = happy big people a cozy family room everyone loves = happy family before... after... plants are everything... and a little designerly love in the kitchen... the time to make your home your happy place is now. redesign your world. love coming home. xo... christina for all if you want to change the world, go home and love your family. - mother teresa every day it gets harder to know the difference between the real world and an snl sketch. every day i drink my coffee and hope that at least the giraffe had her baby. every day i find myself singing along with bono, i can't believe the news today. i can't close my eyes and make it go away. there is oh so much we can do absolutely nothing about. the giraffe baby, for example. it's easy to feel powerless and hopeless and frustrated. but there is oh so much we can absolutely do something about. we can make home a place where love trumps hate. we can make home a place where all are welcome and we are unified in our diversity. we can make home a place where fear dies and truth-telling is met with unconditional acceptance. refuse to feel powerless and hopeless and frustrated. refuse. there is so much good to be gotten. we gotta rise above whatever brings us down. whatever it is. rise above. my mom always says that the best revenge is a life well-lived. redesign your world. love coming home. make home your happy place. xo... christina for all by christina britt lewis i don't mean to brag and i don't mean to boast, but... we have the best clients in the whole wide world. not only do you trust us to care for your home and your pets on installation day, but you leave us fresh coffee and baked goods and love notes!! you make us go "awwwww...." all the livelong day. we love you like crazy. here is what i know... if you can take baked goods and make them look this beautiful, you can make your home beautiful too. same thing. to redesign is to... take what you have and put it together in a way that makes you go "awwww...." not always but often... it is not our lack of ability that prevents us from making our homes beautiful. it is our lack of confidence in our ability that stops us. (or sometimes we are just tired and it's really nice to come home to everything finished in one day) we doubt and second guess ourselves till kingdom come. we know, because kelly and and i can redesign the heck out of your home, but we freeze with our own and stay stuck in indecision and feeling notgoodenough. we are right there with you, sisters and brothers. so it comes as no surprise to us when we walk into an already beautiful home like this one. most of you have serious style and need us a whole lot less than you think you do. before remodeling... after the walls came down... after gutting and remodeling their dream home in sweet downtown davidson, they were tired of all of the decision making and just wanted to love coming home at the end of the day. they already had the big pieces and lots of things that they love. we just pulled it all together with a few new things in a way that made them go "awwww...." before... after... candlelight creates coziness... plants and books are everything... should you paint your brick white? yes. yes, you should paint your brick white... before... and after... custom made table handcrafted in charlotte by josh and morgan butler, farmhouse furniture specialists at butler's custom furniture and cutest couple that you ever did meet. tell them we sent you. a happy home is yours for the making. we believe in you. you got this. xo... christina for all |
